Indigen Armor's diversed engineering department utilizes a variety of software packages including SolidWorks, COSMOS, DezignWorks, Catia and PDMWorks. Specializing in rapid prototyping of automotive components, the Engineering Department can also provide Bill of Material (BOM) development, tooling design and project management.

Fabrication & Machine Shop
Machine Shop equipment includes Press Brakes, Shears, Weld Positioners, Bridgeport Mills, Engine Lathes, Drill Banks, Hand Tools, Pneumatic Tools, Media Blaster, Paint Booths, Cranes and other Specialty Equipment.

Hardness Testing
The Indigen Test Laboratory has a Newage NB-3010LB Brinell tester. The NB-3010LB system applies precise loads using a dead-weight design. A pneumatic cylinder ensures the load descends smoothly so there is no impact effect on the test specimen. The impressions are interpreted by a Model OS-300 Lab B.O.S.S. (Brinell Optical Scanning Scope)

The Job Shop has three (3) Integrated Flying Bridge 6012 Waterjet Machines w/ 50i-S ESL Intensifier Pumps in Charlotte, NC. We specialize in working with armor, steel, ceramics and transparent armor. However, we also work routinely with aluminum, stainless, rubber and foam. Our operators are well versed in nesting materials to minimize scrap rate and thereby decreasing the cost of a production run.

We accept all CAD files for waterjet fabrication and job shop production runs. Alternatively, we offer in-house programming and engineering through our FlowMaster® or SolidWorks® Software. Waterjets are run on a two-shift operation and can be increased to a third shift as needed.

Welding
Indigen Armor is a proud Sustaining Member of the American Welding Society. We have over twenty (20) total welding stations. Each station consists of heavy platen tables with Oskar hoods and vents. The Indigen Armor Welding Shop has the ability to both make custom tooling, fixtures or jigs and can accommodate customer furnished tooling as well. All of our skilled welders can read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings and are certified to various MIL-SPEC’s through an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). Specifically, our welders have certifications for MIL-A-46100(d), and AWS D1.1
