About Us
Company Heritage
Indigen Armor was conceived in a makeshift trailer located in a volatile combat zone during early 2004. The founders, military veterans with extensive Special Operations and high-risk protection backgrounds, were working in support of US national security interests at the time. Here, they describe how Indigen Armor came to be.
"During our recent overseas deployments we experienced and were exposed to numerous incidents that made us determined to design a safer and more reliable armored vehicle. We were targeted in ambushes where the threats exceeded the protection-level of our vehicles, which also resulted in CPU self-survival system shutdown and run-flat tire failures. Additionally, fuel incompatibility, suspension system failures, A/C system inadequacy, door/window hardware and other electro-mechanical failures were regular occurrences. Under normal operating conditions these failures would be considered minor; however in a combat zone they could lead to catastrophic consequences."
"Collaborating during our spare time, we developed an initial concept to alleviate the issues at hand and anticipated problems that could occur. That concept was sketched onto a yellow legal pad and a company was born."
Operational experience in 32 countries on 4 continents.
